Desmond pursued Chiropody as his second career, combining his passion for foot care, biomechanics, rehabilitation, and soft tissue surgery with a strong background in patient care. His previous experience as a Respiratory Therapist in critical care has provided him with exceptional communication and clinical reasoning, allowing him to deliver comprehensive, evidence-based care to the patients he treats. Desmond has experience in assessing and treating a wide range of foot and lower limb conditions and is committed to providing personalized treatment plans that help patients reduce pain, improve mobility, and return to the activities they enjoy. He stays current with the latest advancements in chiropody to ensure his patients benefit from modern, effective treatment approaches. Outside of the clinic, Desmond enjoys staying active at the gym, dancing, and traveling.

Serena holds an Honours Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from Wilfrid Laurier University and an Advanced Diploma in Chiropody from the Michener Institute of Education. She is dedicated to providing high-quality, holistic, and patient-centered care. Growing up, Serena was actively involved in running and various sports, which sparked her interest in sports injuries and helping others achieve their optimal health and mobility. With experience in both hospital and private clinical settings, Serena has developed a passion for treating a wide range of foot concerns—from skin and nail conditions to biomechanical and musculoskeletal issues. She enjoys working with patients and strives to create a positive and welcoming environment for every patient she works with. Outside of the clinic, Serena embraces an active lifestyle. She enjoys outdoor activities, including participating in Toronto waterfront races and taking long walks with her dog.

Sarah Higgins is an expert blog writer and editor at Feet First Clinic, where she combines her expertise as a Registered Chiropodist and her passion for writing to educate patients about foot health. With extensive experience working in both hospital and private settings, Sarah has a deep understanding of a wide range of foot pathologies and stays up to date with the latest cutting-edge research on biomechanical correction techniques, as well as advancements in orthotic manufacturing methods. Her comprehensive, evidence-based approach ensures patients receive tailored solutions to help manage and prevent foot pain.

In addition to her clinical practices, Sarah serves as a medical consultant, offering her knowledge to various organizations and helping to develop evidence-based resources for foot health. She has also been a guest lecturer on foot biomechanics at Western University and has spoken at numerous conferences, sharing her insights on foot biomechanics. Sarah is passionate about educating others and takes pride in mentoring future practitioners.

When she’s not seeing patients or writing about foot health, Sarah enjoys staying active with spin class, Pilates, and strength training. She’s an avid reader and loves planning her next travel adventure. Sarah is also committed to continuous learning and development, always seeking new ways to expand her knowledge in both her clinical practice and writing.

Peyman obtained his medical degree in Iran, where he worked as both a family doctor and anesthesiologist in hospitals and medical clinics for seven years. He then obtained his Advanced Diploma in Chiropody from the Michener Institute in Canada. He brings a special interest and background in podiatric medicine and is passionate about helping people with their foot pain and overall foot health. He uses his medical background and podiatric experience to provide his patients with the best care possible.

Christianne Gregorio is a registered Chiropodist in good standing it’s the College of Chiropodists of Ontario. She obtained her Honours Bachelor of Science from the University of Toronto majoring in Human Biology: Health and Disease and Human Physiology. She then completed an Advanced Diploma in Chiropody from the Michener Institute of Applied Sciences. Christianne is passionate about providing quality and comfortable foot care. She also loves collaborating with the Feet First Clinic team to educate our patients on the importance of foot health and the many ways to improve it!

Barbara graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and a Masters of Science in Biomedical Communications from the University of Toronto. She pursued further education at the Michener Institute, where she earned a Diploma of Chiropody with distinction. Barbara decided to follow a career in Chiropody as a result of her desire to help patients with foot pain and discomfort and to make a difference by providing them with individualistic management and treatment plans. Her nurturing nature and confident approach puts patients at ease. Barbara is registered and in good standing with the College of Chiropodists of Ontario.
